ABUJA, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)-The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr. Festus Keyamo, has lauded Air Peace’s achievements in the aviation industry as a testament to Nigeria’s potential on the global stage.
Speaking at Air Peace’s 10th-anniversary celebration at Eko Hotels and Suites in Lagos, Keyamo praised the airline’s world-class operations, which he said elevate Nigeria’s reputation internationally.
“Air Peace is a proud ambassador of Nigeria,” Keyamo stated, adding that the government is committed to supporting the airline’s success.
“They’re rubbing shoulders with some of the biggest airlines in the world, and that is from a local entrepreneur here, so they deserve all the praise and support.”
Highlighting Nigeria’s evolving aviation industry, Keyamo revealed that top international aircraft lessors and financiers are now interested in doing business with Nigerian airlines.

He shared news of an upcoming meeting in Ireland in January, where Nigerian airline operators will discuss aircraft leasing and financing opportunities with global financiers.
In his remarks, Keyamo noted the challenging environment for Nigerian airlines, pointing out that many haven’t survived beyond 10 years.
Air Peace, however, has defied the odds by thriving for a decade. “Air Peace, after 10 years, is still looking strong and on the rise,” he said.
Keyamo also addressed his ministry’s efforts to stabilize the industry, assuring that longstanding issues that have caused many airlines to fail are now being tackled “We have listened to (airline operators), looked at their problems, and are frontally addressing them. We will not have airlines going under in Nigeria again,” he assured.
Air Peace’s founder, Dr. Allen Onyema, expressed gratitude to Keyamo and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for efforts to improve the sector.
Onyema said the airline remains committed to setting high standards that put Nigeria on the global aviation map.
Founded in 2014, Air Peace has grown from seven aircraft serving five destinations to a leading airline in West Africa, expanding into international routes, including flights to China and the UK.
