ABUJA, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), has announced that the national power grid encountered a partial disturbance on Sunday.
This disruption was caused by a series of trippings involving power lines and generators, resulting in grid instability and a temporary loss of power supply across several areas.
In a statement issued by TCN’s General Manager of Public Affairs, Ndidi Mbah, Tuesday, November 5, 2024, at approximately 1:52 p.m, the company assured that engineers were working swiftly to restore power to the affected areas.

As of 2:49 p.m., bulk power had been restored to Abuja, with TCN gradually resuming supply to other regions of the country.
“We sincerely apologize for every inconvenience this may cause our electricity customers,” the statement read, highlighting TCN’s commitment to restoring full power as soon as possible.
This is the latest in a series of challenges faced by the national grid, prompting calls for improved infrastructure to prevent frequent power disruptions across Nigeria.
