ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- The Nigeria Police Force on Sunday announced the arrest of 130 individuals, including 17 Nigerians and 113 foreign nationals from China and Malaysia, for their alleged involvement in cybercrimes in Abuja’s Federal Capital Territory.
Police spokesperson Muyiwa Adejobi confirmed that the arrests took place on Saturday during a coordinated raid in the Jahi area of Abuja.
In a statement, he said, “The Nigeria Police Force has arrested 130 suspects comprising 113 foreign nationals (87 males and 26 females), primarily of Chinese and Malaysian origin, and their 17 Nigerian collaborators (4 males and 13 females).”

According to Adejobi, those arrested were allegedly involved in “high-level cybercrimes, hacking, and activities that threaten national security.”
He added that the operation, led by Assistant Inspector-General of Police Benneth Igweh of Zone 7 Headquarters in Abuja, targeted a building near Next Cash and Carry in Jahi, where the suspects reportedly used computers and advanced equipment to facilitate these criminal acts.
The raid involved officers from the Zone 7 Command, Abuja, and the National Cybercrime Centre. Adejobi confirmed that the investigation is still underway, with all recovered evidence undergoing scientific analysis.
He concluded by assuring the public that the suspects will face charges in court after the investigation, and the results will be made publicly available.
