However it was gathered that instead of the DPO, SP Osemwegie Lilian, to report the incident to appropriate authorities , she stalled and only reported five (5) days after it happened.
According to SaharaReporters sources, Inspector Edith was told not to file the case immediately but she did anyway. This insubordination angered the Ibie DPO, SP Lilian.
Inspector Edith was said to be coerced to drop the issue by the DPOs of Ibie, Jattu and Auchi Police station.
To confirm the development, sources told the SaharaReporters that the case was brought to light because Inspector Edith reached out to a Personal Assistant to the police commissioner to report the incident after the DPO failed to act. She was then directed to the area command to report. Until it got to the waits of the commissioner.
