LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) –May Edochie, the estranged wife of Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has responded to backlash from some men who accused her of promoting divorce.
In an exclusive interview on AY Makun’s Glasshouse podcast, May Edochie emphasized her love for family and marriage, dispelling misconceptions surrounding her decision to file for divorce.
Edochie’s divorce filing came after Yul Edochie’s marriage to Judy Austin, citing alleged adultery.

However, she stressed that her actions were not intended to advocate for separation or divorce.
“I love family and marriage,” Edochie clarified.
“Marriage is the foundation of family, and essential for building strong families and societies.”
She addressed criticism from some men, stating, “Some men see me as someone misleading their wives. But I’m not in any way advocating separation or divorce. Let me categorically state it now that I’m not an advocate for divorce.”
