ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – The Chairman of the Science, Technical, and Vocational Schools Management Board (STVSMB) in Enugu State, Dr. Amaka Ngene, has commended Governor Peter Mbah’s education policies, citing them as key drivers of the state’s progress and competitiveness in the sector.
Ngene made this statement during a familiarization visit from the Enugu State House of Assembly Committee on Education.
She highlighted the significant role of Technical and Vocational Education (TVE) in fostering wealth creation, employment opportunities, and industrialization in the state.
STVSMB boss also urged the committee members to visit schools in their constituencies to assess renovation needs and enhance the safety of children in those institutions.
Dr. Ngene further noted that the Board, under her leadership, has fully embraced Governor Mbah’s agenda to revitalize government technical schools, aiming to elevate them to greater prominence.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the House Committee on Education, Rt. Hon. Osita Eze praised Dr. Ngene’s leadership and experience.

Eze, who also represents Oji River Constituency in the State House of Assembly, expressed confidence in Ngene’s ability to align the Board’s goals with Governor Mbah’s vision for education.
He further emphasized the critical importance of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in Enugu State, underscoring the need for stakeholders to collaborate in achieving quality TVET for economic growth, employment, and industrial development.
Supporting this, the Committee’s Vice Chairman, Hon. Malachy Onyechi, reassured the STVSMB of the House Committee’s full backing, including budgetary assistance.
He encouraged Dr. Ngene to put forward proposals that would help facilitate necessary actions aligned with the Governor’s expectations and ultimately improve the lives of the state’s children.
Dr. Ngene, in her response, expressed appreciation for the visit, describing it as a timely boost to Governor Mbah’s transformative education initiatives, which she referred to as “disruptive innovation.”
She affirmed that this collaboration would strengthen the relationship between the STVSMB and the Committee, accelerating progress in the state’s education sector.
