ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, has called for an immediate investigation into bribery allegations made against some officers of the Commission.
This was disclosed in a press release issued by the Head of Media & Publicity for the EFCC, Dele Oyewale, in a statement released on September 24, 2024.
The allegations were raised by Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, in a viral video.
In the video, Bobrisky, who is an ex-convict, claimed that unnamed EFCC officers collected a sum of N15 million from him in exchange for dropping money laundering charges.
The video, which was powered by social media influencer Martins Vincent Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, has sparked widespread attention.

In response, the EFCC chairman has set up a team of investigators to examine the claims.
The Commission has also invited both Okuneye and Otse to appear at the EFCC Lagos office to assist with the investigation.
The anti-graft agency also reassured the public that the allegations would be thoroughly investigated, and the findings would be made public.
The Commission further reaffirmed its commitment to its core values of integrity, professionalism, courage, and collaboration.
The statement partly read: “To this end, the Commission hereby invites both Okuneye and Otse to make themselves available at its Lagos Directorate to assist investigators unearth the alleged bribery.
“The EFCC wishes to assure the public that the allegations would be thoroughly investigated and the result of the findings made public accordingly.
“The Commission is committed to its core values of integrity, courage, professionalism and collaboration at all times.”
