LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- Former Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has defied the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), asserting that no member of the party can take disciplinary action against him.
Wike made these remarks during an appearance on Channels Television’s ‘Politics Today’ program on Friday night.
When asked about the possibility of facing the PDP’s disciplinary committee, Wike responded confidently, questioning, “No PDP is coming after me, who is the one that will come after me? Who will face the disciplinary committee?”.

This declaration follows reports that the PDP had summoned him to answer allegations of anti-party activities.
The PDP’s Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Ibrahim Abdullahi, had previously condemned Wike’s comments regarding “putting fire in their states,” referring to remarks he made about PDP governors.
Abdullahi characterized Wike’s statements as “wrong and unacceptable.”
Wike, a member of the PDP ‘G5’ group, has been critical of the party’s leadership, notably refusing to support the presidential candidacy of Atiku Abubakar.
Alongside fellow governors Seyi Makinde, Okezie Ikpeazu, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, and Samuel Ortom, Wike has maintained a stance that challenges the party’s direction.
