ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- President Bola Tinubu has emphasized that building a solid and united country is a collaborative task that requires the involvement of all segments of society, not just one arm of government.
He made this statement on Wednesday, July 3, through the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, at the first-ever Legislative Open organized by the House of Representatives.

Tinubu expressed his government’s willingness to work with the legislative and judicial arms to ensure an inclusive government, creating a framework that promotes mutual respect and inclusiveness.
He also encouraged lawmakers to conduct robust oversight of government activities, exercising their check and balance function to ensure accountability and making corrections as needed.
The President further urged lawmakers to engage with their constituents through town hall meetings, gathering their views and feelings on governance, as not all citizens can travel to Abuja.
He emphasized the importance of representative democracy, which promotes inclusivity, accountability, and good governance, and encouraged lawmakers to create platforms for engagement with the Nigerian people.
