ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- Edo State Deputy Governor, Marvellous Omobayo, has urged leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Owan East Local Government Area to embrace members of opposition parties to ensure a resounding victory for the PDP candidate, Dr. Asue Ighodalo, in the upcoming governorship election.
Omobayo made the call during a visit to the residence of Hon. Ambrose Imode, pioneer chairman of Owan East Local Government Area, in Otuo, where he also met with non-PDP politicians who pledged to support the party and Ighodalo.
The deputy governor praised Ighodalo and his running mate, Osarodion Ogie, as the best candidates for the positions, promising “enormous development” in the state if they win.

He highlighted the long-standing relationship between Akoko-Edo and Owan people, urging its continuation. Omobayo noted that many indigenes of Otuo and Owan East Local Government Area who attended school in Akoko-Edo would travel back home during weekends, fostering a strong bond between the regions.
Hon. Ambrose Imode assured the deputy governor of his support and that of party faithful for the PDP’s victory.
Imode, a former council boss, pledged to work tirelessly alongside party members to ensure Ighodalo’s success.
The deputy governor also visited the traditional ruler of Otuo, HRH Godfrey Alabi, assuring him of the state government’s preparation for the coronation of Uzoyare the second of Otuo Kingdom.
He expressed the government’s commitment to supporting the monarchy and enhancing the region’s development.
Omobayo’s visit aimed to strengthen party unity, foster collaboration with opposition members, and reinforce the PDP’s commitment to the region’s growth.
By embracing opposition members and promoting unity, the PDP aims to secure a resounding victory in the upcoming election.
