LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) -Lanre Gentry, the former husband of Nollywood actress Mercy Aigbe has marked the 14th birthday of their son, Juwon, amidst the couple’s ongoing public dispute.
Gentry, a hotelier, and Aigbe tied the knot in 2014, and their union produced two children, Juwon and Michelle. However, the marriage ended in 2017.
In an Instagram post on Tuesday, Gentry celebrated his son’s birthday, alleging that Aigbe has been trying to separate them.

He expressed happiness that Juwon still recognizes him as the father.
“Happy birthday to my dear son Olajuwon Gentry, no matter how your mother try to take you away from me, I still remain your father and am happy you are growing up to understand that I remain your father and to come back to me to ask for anything without your mother asking by herself. I cherish you, my son, a long life to you and me as your father,” Gentry wrote.
In response, Aigbe also took to social media to describe the young boy as “my sunshine in whom I am well pleased” in a series of celebratory posts.
It is worth noting that in 2017, Aigbe had made several claims of domestic violence against Gentry.
The former couple has since been embroiled in a public feud, often engaging in disputes on social media.
