LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)-The federal government has announced Monday, June 17th, and Tuesday, June 18th, as public holidays to observe this year’s Eid-El-Kabir celebration.
Represented by Minister of Interior Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, FG conveyed the declaration and extended congratulations to all Muslims at home and abroad on the occasion.
In a statement by Dr. Aishetu Gogo Ndayako, the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, in Abuja, the Muslim ummah were advised to uphold the values of peace, kindness, and sacrifice demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon Him).

He urged them to utilize this period for prayers dedicated to the unity, prosperity, and stability of the country.
The minister emphasized that the administration of President Bola Tinubu is dedicated to protecting the lives and property of all Nigerians.
He called on Muslims and all Nigerians to support and collaborate with the President in his endeavors to diversify the economy and accelerate the nation’s economic recovery.
Meanwhile, President Bola Tinubu will observe Eid-El-Kabir in Lagos, as announced by presidential spokesman Ajuri Ngelale.
“The president will mark the occasion in prayers and reflection on advancing the transformation of Nigeria in line with his Renewed Hope Agenda,” he said.
