ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- The Katsina State Government has gifted N6 million to the families of seven security agents killed by bandits in the Kankara Local Government Area of the State.
The seven security agents include four police officers alongside three members of the Katsina Security Watch Corps, who were recently ambushed and killed by bandits.
The state Governor, Dikko Radda, directed that N500,000 be given to each of the families of the four slain police officers, while N1,000,000 was given to each of the families of the three slain members of the Katsina Security Watch Corps.
The State Commissioner for Special Duties, Isah Mohammed Kankara, while delivering the gifts, expressed concern over the daily loss of lives in Kankara, Safana, and Danmusa local government areas, and described the situation as unfortunate and inhumane.

He acknowledged the dedication of the slain officers who fought against banditry, cattle rustling, and kidnapping in the frontline LGAs.
The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Victims of Banditry and IDPs, Saidu Danja, stated that the money was given to help the families celebrate Eid-El-Kabir with ease.
He also clarified that sixteen persons were killed in the recent Kankara bandits’ attack, contrary to other figures reported in the media.
The Katsina State Commissioner of Police, Abubakar Musa, thanked the government for their support and reiterated his commitment to tackling banditry.
He encouraged other governors in the North-West to follow governor Radda’s lead in addressing banditry.
“We have seen the passion of the governor and his executive council in addressing banditry. The governor really encourages us. People should continue assisting him with prayers.
“With the commitments, the attacks have come down reasonably due to prayers by people because farming was not possible but now, we thank God for the logistics support we are getting from the governor,” CP Musa added.
