LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- Enugu Rangers are set to clash with Shooting Stars today, June 12, in one of the biggest games of the 2023/24 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season
It is a week 36 match, which will put league leaders, Enugu Rangers, against a resurgent 3SC, who are fourth on the table.
The Flying Antelopes’ charge for an eighth NPFL title and the first since 2016 received a boost on Monday after they were awarded three points and three goals as a result of Enyimba’s refusal to complete their match-day 35 derby in Enugu.
That decision takes them up to 64 points in the table, five points above Enyimba and Remo Stars who are second and third with 69 points each.

However, 3SC have been in buoyant mode since the turn of the season and are now within a touching distance of a first continental campaign in over 15 years.
The Oluyole Warriors have 56 points to Rangers 64, but they are only three points behind second and third-placed Enyimba and Remo Stars.
In other matches involving teams with title ambition, Remo Stars will face relegation-threatened Heartland of Owerri, just as Enyimba will battle Bayelsa United, who are also struggling for survival.
16th-placed Sporting Lagos will also welcome Plateau United to the Mobolaji Johnson Arena as they hope to get a win that will boost their chances of survival while 15th-placed Akwa United are at home to Katsina United.
Gombe United will host Abia Warriors, Bendel Insurance and Rivers United will clash in Benin, Niger Tornadoes will host Lobi Stars in Kaduna, Kwara United will take on Kano Pillars.
