ANAMBRA, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – Renowned businessman and socialite, Cubana Chief, Obi Cubana has explained reasons why Nigerian high-life singer, Chinedu Okoli, popularly known as Flavour N’abania held his late father’s funeral in Enugu State instead of his hometown, Umunze, Orumba South Local Government Area of Anambra State.
Chief Priest, who attended the funeral on Saturday with other notable celebrities, including Peter Obi, Phyno, and Odumeje took to his Instagram page to reveal that insecurity in Anambra forced Flavor to move the event to Enugu.
He described the insecurity situation as “no longer interesting”, appealing to people of the region to unite to address the security challenges in the area.
The socialite maintained that Southeasterners could not afford to destroy their own homeland, amidst perceived marginalization.

He wrote, “This amazing funeral was supposed to be happening in Umunze, Anambra State, but here we are in Enugu managing it.
“Umunne, we need to come together and fix this; it’s no longer interesting. We cannot destroy our own because we are being marginalized.”
Meanwhile, the Anambra born highlife musician, while bidding his final farewell to his father, Benjamin Onyemaechi Okoli in an Instagram post on Saturday, shared a video captioning it, “O RUO N’OMUME. KA ANYI DUO ODOGWU IJE” (Translated: “The time has come. Let us bid farewell to the hero”).
His wife, Sandra Okagbue, a former beauty queen, also took to Instagram to pay her respects to her father-in-law.
She wrote, “Today, we gather not in sorrow, but in celebration of the life of a remarkable man who will always be an icon to many. Farewell, my father-in-law, Pa Benjamin Okoli.”
