ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) announced on Sunday that the 2024 Direct Entry (DE) registration deadline has been extended to Monday, June 17, 2024.
To accommodate the increased number of prospective DE candidates, JAMB has expanded registration points beyond the Professional Registration Centres (PRCs) in high-demand states.
This extension follows numerous requests from stakeholders and authorities over the past month.

Regarding the Kwara State University (KWASU) Diploma, JAMB stated, “Having held high-stake meetings with the principal officers of the Kwara State College of Arabic and Islamic Legal Studies (CAILS) and KWASU on the CAILS-KWASU Diploma programme, the Board has agreed to conduct a special registration exercise for the 3,633 prospective candidates who did not participate in the 2024 UTME based on the assumption that they would be accommodated in the 2024 DE exercise.
“These candidates are to register at any approved CBT centres in Kwara, Oyo, or Osun State within the next week, ending Monday, June 10, 2024, to register for the UTME.
“469 others among this category who had already taken the 2024 UTME need not retake the examination. The one they have already taken suffices.”
JAMB will conduct a supplementary 2024 UTME on Saturday, June 22, 2024, for the following candidates: CAILS-KWASU candidates; 20,550 candidates whose results are still under investigation; and 2,702 candidates whose fingers could not be verified, giving them the benefit of the doubt to sit for the 2024 UTME.
JAMB added, “The remaining 322 candidates have been categorized under examination misconduct as a prima facie case has been established that those who registered were not the ones who appeared for the exam. Consequently, the number of examination misconduct cases has increased by 322 to 43.”

Additionally, JAMB has rescheduled exams for 24,535 candidates in their chosen towns on Saturday, June 22, 2024, due to substantial non-compliance with Board standards at certain centres.
The Board also announced the release of 3,921 outstanding 2024 UTME results. Concerned candidates can check their results by sending “RESULT” to 55019 or 66019. Cleared candidates will see their results, while those rescheduled will receive notifications.
“This release brings the total results released to 1,883,350. The rescheduled examination on Saturday, June 22, 2024, allows affected candidates adequate time to prepare. This notice does not concern candidates whose results have been released.
“Candidates with prima facie cases of examination misconduct will be further interrogated to establish their culpability, after which appropriate measures will be taken and announced,” the statement concluded.
