ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- Former Governor of Rivers State, Peter Odili, has reiterated his support for the administration of Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
Speaking at the inauguration of the Omoku-Egbema Road on Saturday, Odili encouraged Fubara to remain confident and focused on his objectives, assuring him of the people’s backing.
Odili emphasized that the projects initiated by the Fubara administration would secure the support of the Rivers people for the 2027 election.
“Don’t be afraid because when the people are with you, be assured that God is with you and no man can shake you,” Odili stated.

Odili, who governed Rivers State from May 1999 to May 2007, reaffirmed that the people’s support is crucial and that Fubara should not be apprehensive about any opposition.
The event comes amidst a prolonged conflict between governor Fubara and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike.
Wike, who served as governor from May 2015 to May 2023, is currently the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
In April 2024, Wike publicly acknowledged a strained relationship with Odili, whom he had previously referred to as his “father.”
Odili’s remarks are seen as a significant endorsement for Fubara, encouraging him to continue his administration’s people-focused initiatives with confidence.
