How Over 160,000 Nigerians Benefitted From Tinubu’s Transport Subsidy – Alake

ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- Dele Alake, Chairman of the Presidential Committee overseeing the Implementation of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s End of the Year Transportation Subsidy Programme , has announced a significant milestone.

According to him, more than 160,000 individuals have reaped the rewards of this initiative, slated to conclude on 4 January, 2024.

Alake, who also serves as the Minister of Solid Mineral Development, shared this accomplishment through an official post on his X account today.

He expressed satisfaction with the program’s success, highlighting the substantial increase in passenger numbers reported by both the Nigeria Railway Commission and the Association of Luxury Bus Owners of Nigeria.

In his statement, Mr. Alake said, “I am delighted to report that our End of Year Transportation Subsidy Programme, spearheaded by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has achieved remarkable success, benefiting over 160,000 passengers nationwide.”

Noteworthy figures include approximately 71,000 passengers transported by the Nigerian Railway Commission and an additional 77,122 passengers by the Association of Luxury Bus Owners of Nigeria during the same period.
