ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- Nicholas Ukachukwu, a prominent politician and businessman in Anambra, has formally requested robust security arrangements, comprising 16 soldiers, 20 policemen, and 12 operatives from the Department of State Services (DSS) to ensure his safety during the upcoming festive period.
This request stems from heightened security concerns in the region, particularly following a recent attack on the convoy of Chief Chris Uba, a former political heavyweight in Anambra State, where two policemen and four other individuals lost their lives.
Ukachukwu, who recently tied the knot with Miss Universe Nigeria, Mitchel Ihezue, submitted separate letters to the heads of security agencies in the state outlining his need for enhanced security measures.

In these letters, he highlighted a series of events and functions he intends to undertake in early January 2024, particularly in his hometown, Osumenyi, in Nnewi South Local Government Area.
One of the letters addressed to the Commander 302 Artillery Regiment, Onitsha, stated, “I humbly write to request for 16 Army security personnel to provide security for me during my program/activities in Anambra State and beyond, scheduled to commence on January 6th to 10th of January 2024, respectively, taken cognizance of security challenges in my home town of Osumenyi in Nnewi South LGA of Anambra State.”
The outlined activities include the inspection of a personal road project, dedication of a rehabilitated village church funded by his family, traditional rites for his marriage, dedication of another church, and other engagements in the East.
Expressing hope for a favorable consideration, Ukachukwu emphasized the necessity of heightened security measures to ensure the safety and success of the planned activities.
