ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- In the wake of the passing of Ondo State’s late Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, two additional political appointees have tendered their resignations.
Earlier this week, Special Adviser to the late Governor on union matters and special duties, Dare Aragbaye, and Chief Press Secretary, Richard Olatunde, had already resigned.
In a letter dated 27 December and addressed to the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), they cited the death of Governor Akeredolu as the reason for stepping down from their roles.
Adding to this, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Special Duties and Strategy, Dr. Adedoyin Odebowale, announced his resignation in a letter dated 27 December, 2023, expressing gratitude for the “rare opportunity for service” and stating that his resignation is effective immediately.
Similarly, the Special Assistant to the late Governor on photography, Olawale Abolade, has submitted his letter of resignation.
Dated December 27th, Abolade’s letter attributes his decision to the “unfortunate death” of his principal, describing Governor Rotimi Akeredolu as a “courageous and honest leader.”
