LAGOS, Nigeria( VOICE OF NAIJA) – Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Diane Russet, has condemned the recent killings of scores of residents in Plateau state.
On December 24, over 115 persons were killed after attacks by gunmen on communities in Bokkos and Barkin-Ladi LGAs of the state.
The attackers also razed houses and looted properties in the communities.
Reacting to the incident via Instagram, Diane lamented that the mass killing in Plateau is not receiving enough media coverage in Nigeria.
The reality star wondered why Nigerians are “silent about it, yet quick to react to killings in other countries”.
Diane also offered condolences to the families of the victims while hoping they get justice for the lives lost.

“It’s devastating that over 100 people were killed in Plateau state (Jos). We’re silent about it, yet quick to react to killings in other countries. The North is part of Nigeria, and Northern Christians are human beings. No one deserves to be killed. I wish religion and tribalism could be erased from Nigeria so we could see each other as humans first. I hope the lives lost get justice.
This is not the Nigeria I hoped for. When you can make a difference, I hope you do. True leaders serve!” she wrote.
“You can choose what to speak about, but I hope you’ll stand against oppression and killings. We need to speak up and make our voices heard.”
She also urged political leaders to “do something” to address issues of insecurity.
“People were killed, Children killed, what happens if the leaders of tomorrow don’t exist? Why is religion the greatest threat to humanity? Why is taking another human life so easy? For how long do we turn a blind eye? Kaduna South wiped I, now Jos? Do Something!” she wrote on X.
