ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- The chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Roni Local Government, Jigawa State, Saleh Idris, has been suspended following allegations of sexual assault on a minor.
The party took decisive action in response to the arrest of the 56-year-old Chairman over accused of sexually assaulting his housegirl.

This was disclosed in an official statement signed by Hon. Aminu Sani Gumel, the State chairman.
The statement detailed, “In light of the allegations of rape and impregnation of a minor and after a preliminary investigation by the state chapter, the party has reached the following conclusions: that your actions violate section 21.2 (viii) and (x) of the APC 2022 Constitution as amended and that further investigations are warranted.”
Consequently, the State APC has suspended the party chairman pending the conclusion of the investigation and directed him to transfer his responsibilities to the local government’s vice chairman.
