There is outrage over the Lagos State Police Command declaration of a Nigerian punter, Killaboi, wanted months after he confessed to killing his girlfriend on social media.
In a series of posts shared on his Twitter handle on July 17, Killaboi claimed he “mistakenly” stabbed his girlfriend after they got into an argument.
Augusta was reportedly missing for days until her mother went to Killaboi’s house at Oral Estate in the Ikota area of Lagos state to look for her.
Prior to the incident, the mother had tried to reconcile Augusta and her boyfriend over an issue they had.
Killaboi, who cried about messing up his life at 26 in Instastory posts he shared, promised to ensure his late girlfriend gets justice as he can’t live with the guilt.
He, however, disclosed that he ran away after killing her out of fear. He has been in hiding since then.

The police have now declared him wanted.
Reacting to the announcement, a netizen Z said: “Living in an estate is an indication he can afford to escape the country, months later declaring him wanted?Recall a time when i was in my late teens, over 20 years ago, a friend’s mom was in the head of homicide department of the state. One of her first son’s best friends who was in his late twenties got into a fight with one dude died from just a few punches. She was also close to the killer’s parents, in order to protect the guy, she ensured the guy left town before case was open, and advised the dude where to locate to while police search was in wrong areas , the guy eventually fled to the uk before he was declared wanted by police, and the searchlight was in nigeria , thats how case case die, today the dude comes in from time to time on short visits but ensures he never visits the state where the murder took place . though it was not a deliberate act, case of two fighting and a punch and victim just slumped.
This case remind me of it. see how they wrote frequently visit abuja and lagos as if dude will be foolish to be hiding in those two cities, again handsome reward, when police tallk like this, never take them serious, u may end up been the one jailed as suspect at the end, police has provided cover for dude and by now dude is long gone.
“In Nigeria, if you have police friends for every crime, if you have the right price, they will make a way for you, even if you are an armed robber. Harhet’s why some junior officers extrajudicially kill some kingpins because once they reach station, the possibility of the criminal getting away is high if he can pay his way out.”
A angry netizen said, “Rubbish, it took them months to declare him wanted!”
Just observing reacted, “Nigeria police is a joke, good morning o, so the day just broke. murder that happened how many months ago. The boy must have left the shores of Nigeria and gone far far away.
Another netizen on his part said, “Hhhmm nah wah all dis small small boys and girls of nowadays living reckless violent and questionable lifestyles.”
