LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA) – Bayern Munich winger, Jamal Musiala, who was previously eligible to represent Nigeria, has provided insights into his decision to opt for Germany as his national team of choice.

The promising winger has so far made 23 appearances for the German national football team but has admitted that he once thought of playing for Nigeria.

His father hails from the Yoruba tribe in the West African nation, while his mother’s ancestry can be traced back to Poland.

Speaking to UK3 on his decision to play for Germany, Musiala said, “I could have played for Nigeria because it crossed my mind, and I thought about it well. I had good talks with Nigeria and Germany. So it really just came down to me and where I’d feel the most comfortable. So I decided to go with Germany.”

At just 20 years old, he has already solidified his position as a vital asset within Die Mannschaft, having made his debut for the German national team in 2021.
