LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – A video circulating on social media shows an incident where Manchester United legend Roy Keane was reportedly headbutted by a fan following the Red Devils’ loss to Arsenal, with Micah Richards intervening.
The incident is said to have occurred as Keane was making his way through Emirates Stadium for post-match analysis.
According to The Daily Mail, a confrontation took place in the West Stand, resulting in a purported headbutt aimed at Keane’s chest and chin.
The Metropolitan Police have initiated an investigation into the incident, though no arrests have been made as of yet.

A spokesperson for Sky Sports has also confirmed, “We understand the police are investigating an alleged assault by a member of the public immediately preceding the footage circulating on social media. In the footage seen, Micah Richards was acting to diffuse a situation.”
Security personnel and Micah Richards intervened, with Richards seen restraining the individual involved.
Eventually, the supporter was removed from the scene. Keane continued to the pitchside area to carry on broadcasting without further issues.
In the match, Arsenal secured a dramatic victory with late goals from Declan Rice and Gabriel Jesus, winning 3-1 after Alejandro Garnacho’s late effort for United was ruled out for offside.
