ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – About six people have reportedly lost their lives in a tragic accident on a bridge in Enugu State, on Sunday, while traveling to Cross River State.
The accident happened at Ojorowa bridge, between Nara and Ugbawka in Nkanu East Local Government area of Enugu state.
According to eye witness, the accident occurred on Sunday, 4 June, 2023 around 7:00am in the morning.
The Eye witness revealed that the victims were travelers and strangers who were heading to Cross River State.

According to him, the cause of the accident include but not limited to the bad conditions of the bridge.
He added that the bridge is built with iron by the Military during the Biafra war.
“This Bridge has been killing people every month. Many people are dying here due to bad condition of the bridge. It is too narrow and there is no sign. Government should put sign and make drivers know how dangerous the location is,” the witnesses added
“Look at how they speed into the river because you hardly know that the bridge is narrow compared to the big size of the road” said another eyewitness.
Also, a witness, who identified herself as Nkechi Ugwu said that six persons died and only four survived the incident.
She added that the Driver and three other passengers only survived while six died.
