ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- The Presidential Election Petition Court has dismissed the application by the Labour Party and its presidential candidate, Peter Obi, to allow for a live telecast of the court proceedings.

Justice Tsammani who ruled on the application on Monday said: “The application lacks merit and is accordingly dismissed”.

The Justice while making reference to other countries, reiterated that live streaming has to be planned and budgeted for, saying that it is not carried out from the blues.

He noted also that such an application is never allowed without rules enabling it to come into effect.

Tsammani added that the Presidential Election Petition Court can not allow it without the necessary framework or policies.

However, in unanimous decision of the five-man panel, the court dismissed the application.
