IBADAN, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – Nigerians have been reacting to the lengthy post made by filmmaker Zik Zulu after the passing of veteran actor, Obinna Nwafor aka Saint Obi on 7 May, 2023.

The filmmaker revealed the late actors predicament and how that contributed to his demise at age 57.

He titled the post: “What a sad end for this icon star. The marriage and death of Saint Obi”.

Reacting to the heartbreaking piece, a tweep, Adam Deluxo revealed how a friend of his often call him on his way back from work and they’ll drink till midnight until he opened up to him about his marital woes.

He said: “The piece on Saint Obi is excruciating.

“The number of unspoken battles men fight silently is not talked about enough, especially in marriage.

“I had this married friend of mine that had this habit of buzzing me every evening on his way from work so we cancel bottles till midnight. I didn’t know his situation for months until the day he broke down in tears and opened up and showed me receipts that left me teary-eyed.

“It is always the kindest sets of men that go through the most horrible shit. You see those ones that are mkpuru Obi Bola Tinubu? They barely jam gbazaqueen or radio without battery kinda women.

“La vie est injustice!!”

@afamdeluxo’s tweet triggered reactions with most Nigerians in agreement with his point of view.

“The quiet guys are always scared of approaching women themselves, they accept whatever women coming their way without venting her and understanding female nature,” @Mr_KaYcee tweeted.

Another tweep, @GeorgeNnad said: “This is true. Unfortunately, not many of us realizes this on time. I have realized that men who can’t approach a woman often settle for anything.”

@eldubaku08 who also commented, wrote: “A lot of men are naive; they fail to set boundaries and lay down the law during the early days of the relationship. Other times life happens and a good man can become a shadow of himself. The woman he expects to be his support system ends up being his worst nightmare.”
