ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – One Ms Vivian Omo has reportedly died during an encounter with four officials of Zefa Microfinance Bank, Ifo, Ogun State.

The incident happened on 10 May when the bank officials, situated at Abule Ijoko Lemode area of Ifo Local Government, visited the victim’s house in search of her husband, who was said to be their debtor.

The bank officials had gone there to request the money borrowed by the man, but they were told by the deceased that her husband was not at home.

The incident was confirmed in a statement on Sunday, by the Ogun State Police spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi.

Oyeyemi said the bank staffers were not satisfied with the claim that the man was not at home, so they tried to go away with some electronics, but the late wife resisted.

“While the deceased was struggling with the bank’s staffers, one of them pushed her, and she fell down and was unconscious.

“She was then rushed to hospital for medical attention, but was confirmed dead by the doctor on duty,” he said.
