ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- The Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo has laid the foundation stone to rebuild stores that were affected by the inferno at the Onitsha drug market, on 8 November 2022.

Soludo who was represented by the Onitsha South caretaker committee chairman, Emeka Orji, said that they were sent to perform the foundation laying.

He said: “we know how money was being collected for getting approval for building this place, and how some people are always at my office for this.

“We have been planning for this for a long time, so I told them to draw plan with the access road, which they did and brought to me.

“I liked it and sent to the governor, he liked it also and approved it.”

In his speech, the chairman of Chainsaw and Allied Dealers Association, Mr. Livinus Umeh, thanked the Governor for heeding their plight.

Umeh commended the council chairman for his sleepless night to see that the shops were rebuilt by pleading to the Governor.
