LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – Legendary players from Manchester United’s storied era under Sir Alex Ferguson will be granted major roles at the club if Sheikh Jassim’s takeover proposal is successful.

The Qatari offer led by Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani, chairman of Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB), is still one of two direct takeover offers, along with the one made by Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s INEOS Group, following the conclusion of a third round of bidding over two weeks ago.

According to ESPN, the Qatari group intends to hire several of United’s best players for key positions at the club in an effort to outperform their British rivals.

Players from the Red Devils’ illustrious 1999 treble-winning team, including the homegrown stars from the“Class of 92” group, including Gary Neville and Paul Scholes, would be given places at Old Trafford as a result of the move.

It is also believed that players from more recent teams, such as the Champions League champions from 2008, are being considered.

According to ESPN, Sheikh Jassim’s officials have already approached players during Ferguson’s 27-year managerial career.

The absence of famous players in the United hierarchy is thought to be a problem that the Qatari proposal will try to solve.

They aspire to emulate teams like Liverpool, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and AC Milan, among others.

Meanwhile, Darren Fletcher, the technical director, is the only former star currently working in a top position, despite the unparalleled triumphs of the Ferguson era.

Andrew Cole, Denis Irwin, and Bryan Robson all serve as official ambassadors.

The American companies Elliott Management, Ares, Sixth Street, and Carlyle Group are thought to have made partial investment offers to the Glazer family in addition to the complete takeover bids from Sheikh Jassim and Ratcliffe.

The final decision of the existing owners, which has been closely scrutinized and is still having an impact on United’s summer transfer intentions, is still unknown as of this writing.
