LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- The Osun State Police Command has confirmed the abduction of a yet-to-be identified couple by suspected kidnappers along the Ode-Omu-Gbongan road in Ayedaade Local Government Area of Osun State.
Eyewitnesses revealed the couple was kidnapped on 8 May, around 5 am at Oogi Ojudo town.
Confirming the incident, the Command’s spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola revealed that the Police are on the trail of the kidnappers.
“I assure you that search and rescue operations have commenced and the police personnel are on the trail of the kidnappers,” he said.
It was gathered that the couple were travelling from Lagos to Osogbo where they went to purchase some goods when the kidnappers laid ambush and led them into the bush.
The husband, however, escaped from the kidnappers’ den, while the wife remains in captivity.
