LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – It is evident that the England international has no future under Erik ten Hag, and their breakup this summer is imminent.

Manchester United is succeeding under Erik ten Hag, with a game still to play, the Red Devils still have a nine-point lead over Liverpool in the hunt for the final Champions League position after their 1-0 win against Aston Villa on Sunday.

With a 2-0 victory over Newcastle in the Carabao Cup final, Ten Hag also ended the club’s six-year trophy drought. As a result, supporters are now anticipating an exciting FA Cup final matchup against loud neighbors Manchester City.

Harry Maguire has largely acted as a bystander during their resurgence, the 30-year-old has only made 15 starts, including just seven in the Premier League for United this year.

In fact, Ten Hag decided to once again use Luke Shaw as a temporary center-back with Victor Lindelof against Villa, just giving him a four-minute run-out.

The armband is now mostly worn by Bruno Fernandes, even though Maguire is still United’s club captain; a permanent change will undoubtedly be made in the summer.

Additionally, it has been claimed that Ten Hag will approve Maguire’s departure from Old Trafford because the defender does not figure into his long-term plans for the club.

Maguire was regarded as one of the top center halves in the nation when he first joined United. He has become a laughingstock four years later and is destined for a dramatic decline.
