Criticisms have trailed the news of a Kenyan Instagram influencer, Brenda Akinyi Ochola also known as Brendalicious, who died while allegedly trafficking drugs.
The deceased was a Law graduate going by her Instagram bio and a strong believer in the good life “One thing about me, I will live my best life”.
Her mantra was something she lived by in her posts but it is now subject to public scrutiny under the circumstances of her death.
According to reports from the country’s media, Brendalicious died in Malaysia when the cocaine she was allegedly trafficking burst in her stomach.
She allegedly started acting weird when she arrived at the airport in Malaysia and this attracted security guards.
She was said to have fallen to the ground and started foaming from the mouth.
Efforts to save her proved abortive.

According to unconfirmed reports, 34 capsules of illicit drugs were found in her stomach.
Brenda’s social media posts documented her regular travels, lavish vacations, and luxurious lifestyle.
It is said that she had a Nigerian boyfriend who was responsible for making her a drug mule, and some people have criticised “Nigerian” men for this.
It is alleged that they use emotional manipulation in the form of love bombing to trap and use women for their benefit, especially in dangerous situations.
Following news of her death, social media users took to various platforms to react.
@Kevo_jr said: “The story of Brendalicious reminds me of Agnes Masogange, the tanzanian babe whom people claimed was a mule too. Belle9 did a song in her name. RIP.”
“Allegedly : Kenyan “Instagram influencer” Brenda has died. She was allegedly trafficking drugs but the cocaine bag exploded in her stomach and she overdosed immediately , may her soul rest in peace!” @Am_Blujay said.
@Sir_SlimSteve bashed the tweep for shifting the blame on Nigerian men.
@MmatlouLebogang called out ‘they’ – Nigerian men – for destroying the lives of women throughout the continent.
“They are destroying the lives of women throughout the African continent I guess,” she wrote.
The tweep was dragged for concluding that all Nigerian men are the same.
Another tweep, Gee said, “Who are you referring to by “they”?” and @MmatlouLebogang replied Gee, “Nigerian men”
“U must be mad,” replied @webjacktech who was angry about her tweet.
A tweep @Sir_SlimSteve wrote: “You wanna trend ? Or you need attention? You are a south African woman and you have the guts to even call out other men while all your men is good at is rape…molest…drunk…loot and beat up women everyday….don’t let us start please…”
