Lagos, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)-Sergio Aguero insists Lionel Messi is a better goal scorer than Cristiano Ronaldo, that the Portuguese forward’s goals are “pure luck.“
Ronaldo’s record of 701 club goals in Europe was surpassed by Messi after scoring in Paris Saint-Germain’s 2-0 victory against Nice in Ligue 1.
According to Medio Tiempo, Aguero questioned the caliber of Ronaldo’s goal total in relation to Messi during a live stream on Twitch, stating that he thought the Portuguese frequently benefited from a significant amount of luck.
When defending fellow Argentine Messi against Ronaldo, Aguero stated: “Look where he scores the goal from. Come on. All free-kick goals and pure luck. Messi’s are all at the angle, stupid. But what does [Ronaldo] do? Goalkeeper’s fault. I think Raul has better goals, [Karim] Benzema I think he has better ones.”
Off the field, Aguero and Messi have a remarkable friendship. Aguero’s son Benjamin has Messi as his godfather, and it’s thought that the striker decided to switch from Manchester City to Barcelona in 2021 so that he could hang out in the same locker room as the great.
However, Aguero was unable to realize his dream because Messi departed for PSG in the same summer.
While Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr played Al-Hilal on Tuesday in the Saudi Pro League, Messi will return to action for PSG against Lens on Saturday.
