Veteran Nollywood actor, Pete Edochie, has described his late grandson, Kambilinachukwu Edochie, as a very unusual person in so many aspects.

He described the 16-year-old as a brilliant and talented child who excelled at everything, stating further that experience has taught him that such people don’t last long”.

Voiceofnaija.ng reported that Kambilinachukwu, the 16-year-old son of Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie, died on Thursday, 30 March, 2023.

The son died two months after Yul celebrated his 16th birthday with his wife, May Edochie.

Yul had on 4 January celebrated his (son) birthday via his verified Instagram handle, saying: “A very happy 16th birthday to my first son, Kambilinachukwu Leo Yul-Edochie. May God lead and protect you always. With many more happy years. Daddy loves you.”

Reacting to his sudden demise, the family patriarch Pete Edochie said: “Kambilinachukwu is a very quiet, brilliant and talented child. He’s not somebody you can ride easily. He doesn’t get angry no matter the situation.

“He may change his composure, but he was definitely a very unusual person in so many respects.

“He was so accomplished. I always tell my son that I don’t like people excelling like this in anything they are involved in. Experience has taught me that such people don’t last long.”

Edochie explained that the deceased developed seizure after he fell while playing football with his schoolmates.

He said Kambilichukwu was rushed to the Mother and Child Hospital in Lagos, where he died hours later.
