LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – Latest Android Beta confirms WhatsApp is reportedly working on a dedicated Audio Chat feature.
According to a report by feature tracker, WhatsApp is testing new features, and one of these features that could eventually see the light of day is called “Audio Chat.” Spotted in development on the latest Android by the curious folks at WABetaInfo.
Unfortunately, not much is known in terms of the functionality of the new Audio Chats feature that is currently being developed, the only thing known about the new feature so far is its name – Audio
However, on the latest Android, WhatsApp is also working on the ability for recipients to send audio messages that can only be played once.
In a bid to improve the overall user experience on the platform, the company has been seen developing new functionality and tweaking older features in the recent past.
The feature will reportedly be made available within a WhatsApp user’s conversation window which could be made accessible through the three-dot menu button on the conversation window.
While it was spotted on the latest Android beta, it is also expected to be developed for iOS devices, as WhatsApp offers the same functionality across platforms.
