IBADAN, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – Different hashtags referring to the president-elect of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu as a drug baron, such as TinubuTheDrugDealer, TinubuForPrison, Tinubuisadrugbaron, have been trending on Twitter.
Some Nigerians were able to dig up evidences to back up their claims by sharing a document stating the verified complaint for forfeiture issued by the United States Northern District Court of Illinois years ago.
Some Nigerians have called on international government and organizations to investigate the drug trafficking allegations leveled against Tinubu while others have boasted that the APC chieftain can never be Nigeria’s President.
A tweep, @Sport_Doctor2 shared screenshots of interviews Tinubu’s allies who were once his strong adversary granted different media outlets years ago.

@ilufemiloyei shared a verified complaint for forfeiture document by the United States Northern District Court of Illinois and wrote, “I don’t want Tinubu to be my president because he’s a documented drug trafficker and he will cause a great damage to the image of my country. What is your own reason?? TinubuForPrison #TinubuTheDrugLord”

Investigative journalist David Hundeyin reacted to comments made by one of Tinubu’s spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, where he indirectly confirmed that the president-elect was into drug trafficking.
“Bola Tinubu’s official spokesperson agrees that his boss is a drug dealer, and his defense is “it happened over 10 years ago.”
“Now watch Nigerian media pretend not to see this.”
Meanwhile, Arabirin Aderonke, a self-made second daughter of Tinubu, came to his defence.
She called the former Governor of Lagos State, “a decent man who earned his wealth legitimately”.
