Some Nollywood actors including Richard Mofe-Damijo, and Kate Henshaw have been honoured at an exclusive event hosted by Filmhouse Group on Thursday, 23 March, at Sabor, Victoria Island in Lagos.

The event was held in anticipation of the upcoming release of the highly anticipated movie, Domitilla: The Reboot.

The glamorous event aimed to appreciate and acknowledge the contributions of icons in the Nigerian film industry.

It was a star-studded occasion with the presence of notable personalities such as Zeb Ejiro, Kate Henshaw, Fred Amata, Clarion Chukwura, Elvina Ibru, and RMD, among others, who have all played significant roles in Nollywood’s growth over the years.

The event provided a unique opportunity to bring together the cast of the original Domitilla movie and the new Domitilla Reboot. This reunion was a nostalgic experience for fans and stakeholders in the industry who were thrilled to see their favorite stars come together once again.

Speaking at the event, Mimi Bartels, General Manager of Filmone Studios said: “We are thrilled to have hosted this event to honor the legends who paved the way for the growth of Nollywood.

“We are proud of their contributions to the industry and the inspiration they have been to the younger generation. We look forward to more opportunities to celebrate them.”

Zeb Ejiro, a veteran filmmaker and one of the honorees at the event, expressed his gratitude to FilmHouse for recognizing the efforts of Nollywood pioneers.

He thanked the organizers for creating a platform to celebrate the industry’s icons and emphasized the importance of honoring those who have paved the way for others in the industry.

Richard Mofe Damijo, popularly known as RMD, also appreciated FilmHouse for hosting the event and honoring the industry’s trailblazers.

He noted that the word “legend” should not be cheapened and that true legends are those who have made significant contributions to their craft and have impacted others positively.

He expressed his delight at being part of such an event and commended FilmHouse for their continued support of the Nigerian film industry.

Kene Okwuosa, the Group CEO of FilmHouse Group, thanked the honorees for their invaluable contributions to the industry, stating that their efforts had helped shape the Nigerian film industry into what it is today.

He reiterated FilmHouse’s commitment to supporting the growth and development of the industry, stating that the company would continue to provide platforms to recognize and celebrate the achievements of Nollywood’s icons.
