ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – A former Governor of Enugu State, Senator Chimaroke Nnamani has lost his return bid to the Senate.
Nnamani, the Enugu East Senatorial District candidate, lost the seat to the Labour Party candidate, Sir Kelvin Chukwu.
The LP candidate polled 69, 136 to beat Chimaroke of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who scored 48, 701 votes.
Voiceofnaija.ng reports that Kelvin replaced his brother, Oyibo Chukwu, who was murdered few days to the 25 February, 2023 presidential and National Assembly elections.
Reports say Nnamani has now congratulated the newly elected Senator on his latest achievement after winning the election against the former Governor.
