LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- The senior wife of Isyaka Adamu, the Chief Imam of Nomadic Central Mosque in Rugan Ardo, Kaduna, has reportedly been shot dead by bandits.
Mrs. Hulaira Hussaini Ardo was killed after the bandits had earlier received the two million naira they requested as ransom.
Recall that bandits had on 11 February, kidnaped the four wives at Rugan Ardo in Kagarko LGA, and killed the Chief Imam of Nomadic Central Mosque.
The Madaki of Janjala, Samaila Babangida confirmed the killing and said the community was mourning the killing of their chief’s wife, adding that the bandits refused to release her corpse.
According to him, the ransom of two million naira was paid for the release of the four wives, but the senior wife was shot by the bandits, while the remaining three were released.
“It was after the ransom was taken to the bandits with the assurance to set free the four wives of the chief that the leader of the bandits shot and killed the senior wife and set free the remaining three.
“I boarded one of the motorcycles that took the money and foodstuff to them. It was after they collected the money that their leader opened fire on the senior wife,” Babangida said.
The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Mohammed Jalige is yet to confirm the incidence as he was unavailable at the time of filling this report.
