ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – Unlike the presidential election held on 25 February, 2023, where people came out en masse to cast their votes, the governorship has taken a different turn.
Our correspondent gathered that party agents during the ongoing governorship, and National Assembly elections at Ward 9, Girls Grammar Schools Awkunanaw, are more than the those who were present compared to the presidential election, where very few party agents were seen or noticed.
The elections which began about some minutes passed 8am had not less than 100 electorates who came to cast their votes.
Voiceofnaija.ng reports that some people were seen canvassing for a particular party, as they also wooed electorates to vote for that party.
Meanwhile, the election since it started, has been peaceful and the whole electoral process going smoothly, except for the party agents who were seen at every corner, wooing electorates to vote for their candidates.
One of the electorates told voiceofnaija.ng that she voted her conscience regardless of the party agents and their activities.
“I can’t sell my conscience and suffer another eight years”, she said.
