LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- An accident has occurred at the Giri Roundabout bridge in Abuja, involving a Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) vehicle conveying election materials to Lagos.

The accident occurred on 24 February, as officers were transporting items for election duties, including NSCDC security officials, to Lagos.

In a viral video, people can be seen helping to pick up papers that appear to be election materials that have been left lying around.

An eyewitness who spoke in the video said some of the passengers were injured noting that one of them sustained a head injury.

He said: “I don’t know if it is tire that burst, but I saw the accident clear. The people at the back which they sustained injury, the other person was wound at the head, so I don’t know if he will survive . We called for help.”

He did, however, clarify that a few senior NSCDC employees had been relocated.
