Security Chiefs in Nigeria have revealed the outcome of a meeting on Thursday at Defence headquarters in Abuja, ahead of Saturday, 25 February election.
The Military High Command said security agents will not hesitate to use “strong force” against any element who plans to destroy the presidential election billed to hold on Saturday.
Acting Director, Defence Information, Brigadier General Tukur Gusau, stated this during the joint press briefing of critical security.
Those in attendance include the spokesman of the Department of State Services, Peter Afunanya; the Public Relations Officers of Nigeria Police Force, Olumuyiwa Adejobi; NAF spokesman, Air Commodore Wap Maigida, among others.
Recall that security chiefs had during the National Security Council held on Wednesday at the Presidential Villa in Abuja assured President Muhammadu Buhari that the Saturday election would go on as planned.
The National Security Council comprises the Chief of Defence Staff, service chiefs, Inspector-General of Police, some Ministers, among others advises the President on public security issues.
