LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – Christiana Ebun, a passenger with Ibom Air was allegedly assaulted by officials of the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) at Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport.
In the early hours of Monday, 13 February, 2023 officials of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) descended on a female traveler and battered her till she lost consciousness.
Mrs. Ebun, with Ibom Air ticket QI0313 and seat number 17A, scheduled to depart Abuja to Lagos on a 7:00 a.m. flight was waiting to board, when she sighted some unruly FAAN officials assaulting a lady and began recording before a scuffle with alleged FAAN officials that led to her unconscious State.
However, a contrary report claims she was not assaulted but succumbed to an asthmatic attack during the argument.
The other report indicated that there was physical assuault, that led to her collapse and that Ms Ebun fainted and her body was dragged out of view.
Although she regained consciousness, her body was covered with bruises from the assault.
According to a FAAN Official, Ms Ebun went into town to seek medical attention after refusing the ambulance or medical evaluation from FAAN .
When contacted, FAAN General Manager, Hope-Ivbaise Faithful said the Close Circle Television (CCTV) is currently being reviewed in hopes of getting the true picture of what transpired.
Ibom Air did not immediately return requests seeking comments on the matter.
