Award-winning Nigerian singer, Adekunle Kosoko aka Adekunle Gold, has aired his opinion on the state of the nation.
The singer lamented that the current regime of the President Muhammadu Buhari wasted eight years of the lives of Nigerians.
He said this via his Twitter handle on Thursday, amid ongoing fuel scarcity, hike in fuel price and shortage of naira notes in circulation which has left many Nigerians frustrated.
The singer tweeted: “This current administration wasted 8 years of our lives. 8 years, we regressed as a nation.”
Buhari’s eight-year tenure has reached its dusk, with the 2023 presidential election set to happen on February 25.
Nigeria faces a myriad of economic and security troubles, some of which Buhari had promised to tackle if elected as President.
The President has increasingly been at the receiving end of scathing criticism over the critical state of the nation.
At least on two occasions, he has insisted he did his best for Nigeria in comments that many feared were defeatist.
