Nigerian singer and songwriter, Charles Oputa, known better as Charly Boy, and his wife, Lady Diane, have shed some light on the secret to a long-standing marriage.
The couple uploaded a video on Instagram, admitting that they also deal with issues in their marriage and sometimes want to give up but they choose to “manage” and keep things going.
According to the singer also known as Area Fada, marriage is management because of what marriage entails.
They revealed that they have fought over five thousand times.
But rather than give up, they decided to continue to manage.
They said: “If he go rise we go manage am, if e no rise, we go manage am. Marriage na management.”
Charly Boy and Lady Di renewed their marital vows in 2018 with Bishop Matthew Kukah, a well-known priest, reportedly presiding over the event.
The duo met in 1974 in a hair salon in Boston, U.S.A, where he had gone get a hairdo. The couple have been together for 45 years.
