IBADAN, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – Nigerian street music sensation, Habeeb Okikiola aka Portable, shocked fans with his entrance at the New African Shrine on 28 December.
A video from his concert showed the moment the Zazuu Zeh crooner entered a coffin which was then carried to the stage where he came out to begin his performance.
This isn’t the first time Portable is making his love for coffins known.
Recall that the singer had a few months ago inked his face with a coffin, stirring reactions on social media.
The video has sparked controversy on social media, with some Nigerians dubbing the singer’s act, an end of the year ritual.
A netizen, Tolu Onyedikachi Gideon, wrote: “That was the SACRIFICE He Made to Become Famous and Wealthy, Only the Spiritual people can understand.”
Chiamaka Favour Nnaeloka reacted, “If this one dies tomorrow now. People will begin to pity him. Why enter a coffin to go for a show when you are still alive? One needs to be conscious of their actions and utterances, the world is more spiritual than physical.”
@zege123 also tweeted: “I hope he understands what he just did. Some these young ones don’t appreciate life
“God help him. He needs it.”
“One thing about Portable is that he will give your money’s worth with his stage performance 😂😂😂,” a tweep, @thelawrenz, wrote in reaction to the viral video.
Ichekuoku Nwanyi also wrote: “When people begin to act like this, something has started calling them from beyond.
“Mark this word.”
