ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- Again, the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), under the leadership of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has denied involvement in the burning of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) facilities, owning a bomb factory and destroying electoral party paraphernalia in the South-East.

The group urged the public to ignore the concocted lies associating IPOB with such destructive attacks.

This was contained in a statement by IPOB Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, on Wednesday.

IPOB accused the Federal Government of Nigeria and its security agencies of working with criminals to blackmail its group because, ā€œwe have refused to give up on Biafra restorationā€.

The statement reads: “They set INEC offices on fire and said it is ESN. They assassinated politicians and doctors to damage our hallowed name and say IPOB did it. We know that they want to rig the elections in the South-East against Peter Obi and blame it on IPOB and ESN.

“They burnt markets and properties of our people and attributed it to IPOB. They declared a five-day ignored sit-at-home and killed our people and even killed an expectant mother, using IPOB and ESN identity.ā€
