ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- The Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, has presented 2023 Budget estimate for consideration and Appropriation to the State House of Assembly.
Today, at the newly reconstructed hallowed Chambers of the Imo State House of Assembly (IMHA), His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma presented the 2023 Budget estimate for consideration and appropriation by the State House.
The proposed budget of the Christened 2023 Budget of Wealth Expansion, stood at N474,466,276,267.00 (Four Hundred and Seventy Four Billion, Four Hundred and Sixty Six Million, Two Hundred and Seventy-Six Thousand, Two Hundred and Sixty Seven Naira only).
The budget which is anchored on a policy thrust of satisfying the desires of the good people of Imo State reflects a 23 per cent increase in capital expenditure, with N373.6b (78.8 per cent of the total budget) earmarked.
The Governor said with a proposed recurrent revenue of N150.5b and recurrent expenditure of N101b, the 2023 budget is focused on improving infrastructures across the State for greater economic growth.
He reminded the general public of his assent to the law, the Imo State Public Complaints, Financial Crimes and Anti Corruption Commission, which will deal with those that have defrauded and wish to defraud the State.
Uzodinma, therefore, urged the Speaker and Members of the Imo State House of Assembly (IMHA) to review and consider the 2023 Budget of Wealth Expansion as proposed.
